SEO Scoring: URL’s & Domains
Keyword-rich URLs and filenames (+3)
A very important factor, especially for Yahoo! and Bing.
Site Accessibility (+3)
An issue often neglected. Making sure the entire site can be accessed. Looking out broken links, 404 errors etc.
Sitemap(+2)
Search engines love sitemaps, and if kept up-to-date, it is so much easier for your site to get crawled.
Site Size(+2)
The larger the size, the better. Just remember to keep the site user-friendly as it grows.
Age of Site(+2)
Typically, the older the site is, the more respected it is. These sites are more trusted and likely to be around in the long term.
Domains(+1)
Not all domains are equal. The most common, being .com is more superior that .ws or .biz, but nothing beats a .edu, .gov or .org
Hyphens in the URL(+1)
Hyphenated words in the domain, and the rest of the URL are readable by the search engines.
URL Length(0)
Generally does not matter but just a best practice not too make them too long.
Adsense and Adwords(0)
Neither Adsense and Adwords will have any effect on the SEO of your page.
Dynamic URLs(-1)
Static URLs are preferred as dynamic URLs can get over 100 characters long, which would be a huge disadvantage. You can work around this by using a human/SEO-friendly URL rewriter.
Session IDs(-2)
Worse than dynamic URLs, try avoid using session id’s on pages that you would lke to be indexed.
Redirects(-3)
If not implemented correctly, redirects will hurt your site. 301 or 302 redirects are redirects that should even be considered.
